Accessible Bath Remodel Forest Ave.
Carol Stream IL

TAILORED & SOPHISTICATED

Our client was a referral from a neighbor for whom we have designed many spaces. The client had an urgent need to remodel the bathroom to provide wheelchair accessibility  and easy access for in home care providers for her aging husband.

By relocating the door to the entrance of the toilet room, we were able to create a stunning “roll-in” shower to accommodate his needs. We chose a porcelain tile that looks like Carrera marble with a slip-resistant finish to ensure our clients’ safety.

We worked with the in-home care providers to design a bench that was the perfect height for the homeowner and carefully placed every plumbing fixture withing reach to allow comfortability to the client.

We provided a freestanding soaker tub for the non-wheelchair bound homeowner. We maximized the open space by selecting a shared vanity with two sinks and by adding a chandelier for ambiance.

The shower includes two handheld sprayers, grab bars, and a standard, daily shower with individual controls. We designed a glass partition on hinges that allows full wheelchair access when needed.

We designed open shelf storage at the perfect height for wheelchair accessibility along with a heated towel rack for comfort.

The vanity area was designed at universal height with one side open with easy access for towel bars, outlets and storage. Mirrors were mounted at the optimum height

All in all, the room was improved in many ways to ensure comfort and contentment among both of our clients. We fast-tracked the project and completed it start to finish in 3 weeks to prepare for our client’s husband’s return home from the stroke recovery care.
