The client sold their large home and moved to a retirement community. For the remodeling, they desired a comfortable relaxing but durable atmosphere with 2 dogs and visiting grandchildren. The first challenge was the soft wood flooring which showed the scratches from the dogs. After researching new flooring, a high durable lament wide individual plank flooring with a 30 year guarantee was installed. A rustic dark color was chosen.
A high half wall was removed and a new half wall with a column was created as a foray affect to the master bedroom. Light charcoal gray color chosen for the gallery of family photographs. Accent color used in the dining area with white wainscot throughout. A separation with connection of continuity.
The kitchen area was updated with reset lighting. Lighting fixtures were added throughout the home. Built in TV area with storage around the fireplace was added with LED lighting. The back of the storage units painted a light charcoal coordinating with the walls.
Dark charcoal gray furniture was chosen with a light gray designed pattern on the chair. Red pillows were added for accent with light fresh gray sheer drapes for the window treatment.
