Naperville Interior Designer Joan Kaufman receives 2016 Designer of Distinction Award.
The Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) recently announced Joan Kaufman as the recipient of its 2016 Designer of Distinction Award. Every year, ASID honors those who advance the interior design profession and, in the process, demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively change people’s lives.
“Each year as part of the Society’s mission, we support and recognize leading visionaries who continually push boundaries to demonstrate the impact of design,” said ASID Illinois Chapter President Carol Stolt. “A designer who is selected to receive this award is a true visionary whose accomplishments inspire and teach us about what can be done to make a difference. We are proud to honor Joan Kaufman.”

The Designer of Distinction award honors an ASID professional member who, over the course of his or her interior design career, has established a body of superior work demonstrating creativity, excellence, and innovation. This is the premier award for personal achievement and social consciousness in the interior design field.
Joan Kaufman was named an ASID Designer of Distinction in honor of her great passion for the practice and profession of interior design. A strong leader in eco-friendly design, her work has been widely published and her firm received the 2015 Design Excellence Award for its project at Springbrook Animal Care Center. Her firm has also won awards for Lighting Design and for the Chicago Wolves headquarters office. The firm’s residential work was recently featured in ‘Better Homes & Gardens Remodeling Ideas’ magazine.
