Interior designer Joan Kaufman, a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, was honored by the organization with the Chapter Medalist award.
Kaufman served on the society’s national board of directors for 2012-13 and is chairwoman of the Illinois State Board of Interior Design. The ASID Chapter Medalist Award is the highest award bestowed by the society on professional members at the chapter level in recognition of outstanding service and significant contributions to their chapter, the society, and the profession as a whole.
Kaufman, a Naperville resident, is president of Interior Planning and Design Inc., a full-service interior design firm she founded in 1990.
Kaufman is the past President of the Illinois Chapter and also service ASID as the chair of the Chapter support Team (2010-12) orchestrating leadership training and actin as the National board liaison to Chapter leadership in the organizations 48 chapters.
