Master Bedroom Remodel

The client wanted to take a dated master bedroom and remodel it to have a peaceful, relaxing, end-of-day “get away” bedroom that provides bright light during the day and dark blackout for sleeping. The client couple have differing tastes. The wife desired a sophisticated soft Moroccan pattern, while the husband preferred clean lines with a touch of masculinity. Our solution incorporated soft, rusted gray tones, with blues wavy pattern that recall water to create a stunning yet soothing space well suited for relaxation and sleep.

Faux painted blue and aqua colors with metallic silvery accents were chosen to create harmonious “spa like” waterfall backdrop for the bed. Soft gray with charcoal accents add a touch of masculinity while remaining an inviting relaxing in this “get away”. A soft blue gray color used for the other walls. Anaglyptic wallpaper with a circular pattern for the ceiling created an interested drama without being busy.

We created a separate sanctuary for the bed by having faux columns built to frame the bed and separate the sleeping area from the sitting room. Detailed crown molding serves as a picture frame surrounding the bed and serves to divide the soft LED lights that create drama for the back drop wall.

Three layers of molding, a dentil molding with a circular design, is used throughout the space. A state-of-the-art overhead LED lighting control system can be pre-set up to 5 mood settings on a dimmer control. The furniture selected is ebony high gloss with a curve face. The clear crystal lamps white shades complement with the waterfall backdrop. The bed head board was custom made with side wings in order to stay within the budget parameters for the project. Medium priced, readily available items from the retail market were combined along with custom made items. Gray roman shades with blackout lining were sewn for the window treatment.

A cozy sitting area was created by adding detail to the fireplace and selecting comfortable, beautiful furnishings. Wall to wall carpeting was cut to expect space in bedroom and sitting area. A recliner for reading and relaxing with polish nickel studs that coordinate with the silver tone accessories. The fireplace was embellished with faux antique silver paint and steel silver tile Andes granite flooring and table was chosen with soft, soothing charcoal leather.
